Silver Medal for Jess Ennis at IAAF World Championships

City of Sheffield A.C. athlete Jessica Ennis (Coach Toni Minichello) added another medal to her collection at the IAAF World Championships.
Although hotly tipped to retain her gold medal at the World Championships, it was never going to be the walkover that most had predicted.  The competition was always tough, Jess had some fantastic performances notably her p.b. in shot putt and the 800m.

With mixed emotions Jess was still smiling over winning the Silver medal with 6751 points - 20 more points than her win in Berlin 2 years earlier.
Jess was the first to admit her under par javelin performance let her down, she was 13m behind Chernova with 39.95m;  without wanting to over analyse this, Jess agreed that moving the event from the evening session onto the morning did not suit her.  Chernova finished just behind Jess in a thrilling 800m which Jess ran in 2:07.81 to take the gold medal with 6880.
