In the first match of the series at EIS Sheffield on 8 November our U11, U13 and U15 athletes excelled themselves in winning a total of 30 medals.

The most successful athlete of the day was Wesley Palmer(U13) who won 3 medals, gold in the 60m and long jump and silver in the 200m. In winning the 60m he also equalled the club U13 record for that event with a time of 8.7 seconds.
The only other athlete to get 3 medals was Ross Blakemore(U15) who won a silver in the shot putt and bronze in the 60m and Long jump.
Another athlete who won two gold medals was Adam Khan(U15) who won the long jump with an impressive 5.23m and then provided a thrilling finish to win the 800m.

Also a mention for some athletes for whom this was their first event as club members.
Jill Lee-Liggett(U15) finished 2nd in the long jump with a distance of 4.46m. Adam Higginbottom (U11) won the 600m and came 3rd in the 60m, establishing an U11 club record in the process. Also a winner of a gold and bronze medal was Millie Skinner(U13) who won the 200m and was third in the 60m, this against athletes a school year older than her.
