Our senuior men's team won their final match in the British League (Division 1) at Liverpool giving them a seven point lead at the top of the table and ensuring a speedy return to the Premier Division.
Lee Doran, celebrating his selection for Wales in the Commonwealth Games, won the javelin with 66.86 with versatile middle distance runner Sam Ellis finishing runner up in the B event (54.98). Ellis won the B 800 metres in 1:52.00 with his team mate Mukhtar Mohammed runner up in the A race in 1:51.80. Mohammed was also third in the 1500 in 3:52.80 whilst Ellis, winner of the B 400 (48.20) completed a busy afternoon as part of the winning 4 by 400 metres team along with Mohammed, Matt Quine and Richard Buck.
International 400 metre runner Buck, running his first race for the team this season dropped down to 200 metres and finished third in 21.80.
Jamie Williamson won the shot with a throw of 16.01 with Daniel Brunt runner up in the B event (14.30). Williamson was also fourth in the discus (46.31) with Simon Bissell winning the B event (45.79).
There were good points in the high jump through Ben Mourbey, second in 1.95 and Lloyd Powell, 1st in the B with 1.90 whilst in the pole vault Paul Hallworth rose to the occasion in the absence of Luke Cutts to finish second with 4.40.
