| In the Intermediate Girls Heptathlon Lucy Hodgson (far right) and Kelly Clark (2nd left) both had a successful weekend achieving PB’s along the way. Lucy in the javelin with 21.75m, 200m 28.8 & 800m with 2:42.1 and Kelly in the long jump with 5.05m, 200m 26.5 & 800m with 2:39.3 The team finished in first place overall by 897 points and individually Kelly finished in 3rd place and Lucy in 7th place. | |
| The Junior Girls Pentathlon produced an exciting climax. The S Yorks team were lying in 2nd place by 10 points to the Durham team prior to the start of the 800m. All four girls ran a fantastic race eventually winning the competition by over 200 points. Amy Hodgson (2nd right) won the event overall with a new pentathlon PB of 2801 points, also achieving PB’s of 5.14m in the long jump, 2:39.5 in the 800m and an outdoor PB of 1.48 in the high jump. Olivia Noteman (far right) also had some good performances including a shot putt of 8.04m and long jump of 4.67m finishing in 14th place overall. |
All of the athletes are now looking forward to representing South Yorkshire and City of Sheffield AC against the best multi-eventers in the country at the finals on the weekend of 18th & 19th September at Northwood Stadium in Stoke.
