City of Sheffield athletes 'gave it their all' at the U17 and U15 Northern Championships last weekend. Many of our athletes made the finals of their events and we won several medals.
The standard of competition was as high as ever and for several athletes it was their first Northern Championships, so especially well done to them for taking the plunge and participating!! Also, many athletes gained the entry standards for the EA championships in Birmingham next month - a huge achievement in itself.
The medalists were:
Chris Price 1st U17 men's pole vault,
Sophie Brown 1st U17 women's triple jump
Kelly Clark 2nd U17 women's 60m hurdles
Vicky Price 3rd U17 women's pole vault - yes that's U17 women's !!
Adam Khan 1st U15 boy's long jump (Club Record)
Cameron Barrows 3rd U15 boy's 60m
Tom Smeeton 3rd U15 boy's 60m hurdles
Abigail Bishell 1st U15 girls 60m (Club Record)& 2nd 200m (Club Record)
Yasmine Fisher 1st U15 girls long jump (Club Record) & 3rd 60m hurdles
Luke South also set a club record in the U17 400m.
