A very convincing run from Josh Naisbitt earned him individual Gold in the U15 Boys race, and Alfie Manthorpe worked hard to achieve a well deserved individual Bronze in the U13 Boys. In the team results, our U13 Girls (Amelia Lancaster, Mariella De Lara, Emily Simpson) took team Bronze, U13 Boys (Alfie Manthorpe, Christian Mills, George Finlay) team Silver, U15 Boys (Josh Naisbitt, Jonathan Shields, Evan Webb) team Gold, and finally our U17 Ladies (Eve Pound, Beth Ansell, Calvi Thompson) team Gold. Five of our athletes made the Yorkshire County teams for the UK CAU Inter Counties match in March - Amelia Lancaster, Alfie Manthorpe, Josh Naisbitt, Jonathan Shields and Eve Pound. Yorkshire is one of the toughest counties to qualify in - very well done to all of you. It was a very hard race in the wind, and everyone who took part deserves recognition for completing the course.
Very well done to all of you. Commiserations to Laurie Young and Anina Atkinson who were unable to finish due to illness and injury. I hope you both feel better soon. This match's amusing moment was supplied by Susannah Curran who noticed that she wasn't wearing her number as the gun fired at the start. Ken Curran then ran faster than most Senior Men over 500 metres to deliver it to her at the end of the first lap. Well done to both of you! Evan Webb came a close second with getting to Barnsley before realising he hadn't packed his spikes. Many thanks to the Lancaster family for providing a spare pair. Big thanks to Sam Ellis and Lydia Chamberlin for huge amounts of help packing up the gazebo after the event.
