The highlight of the day saw our U13 Boys continue their impressive team performances taking a fantastic 4th place overall, beating City of York who stole the Northern title. Our other complete team, U15 Girls, finished 12th overall, 1st in South Yorkshire.

The early races were run in bitterly cold and heavy conditions. The course deteriorated quickly, so much so that for the later races the course had to be altered considerably for safety reasons as a number of younger athletes (none of ours!) had to receive ambulance care. The First Aid tent was reminiscient of the Somme, and all who attended will no doubt be hosing down every item of clothing, baggage etc that they took with them. Congratulations to all who finished safely and remained cheerful throughout the day. Special thanks to the Shields family who made the mistake of staying later and helped to take down the soggy brown material that has been previously called a "gazebo." |
