Club athlete Lee Emanuel won the Mile at the US College Indoor Championships on 14 March. Lee who was coached in the UK by John Wood, was representing the University of New Mexico and won in a time of 4:00.36, becoming the first athelete from that university to win a national title in 30 years. He is also one of very few athletes to win university championships in both the UK and USA.

Thanks to all members who helped in making a successful event. Particularly Jill Hodgson, Fiona Noteman, Lorraine Bishell (tea and coffee duty) who spent all day in the bowels of Don Valley, Isabelle Pound issuing t-shirts to all competitors for close on five hours and Ann Stasi for her baking skills in making the ginger bread house for the raffle.

10 City of Sheffield Juniors have been selected for the South Yorkshire team travelling to the English Schools Athletics Association Championships in Nottingham on 21st March.

Yet another lucky escape on the day from an awful weather forecast saw the depleted junior entry from CoSh rise to the occasion at this challenging event, competing against athletes from the all over the north of England.
