It was a very windy day on Sunday for the fourth match in the league and although the team was more depleted than normal, especially in the U17s, the team secured third place and virtually guaranteed their place in the Premier Division next year. Excellent performances and a great team spirit, as usual, means that the team is better placed than it has ever been. Many thanks to Andrea, Rob, John, Maxine and all who organised, officiated and barbequed!
The only club in the relegation places that can catch our team now is Wigan. They would need to beat Leeds City and Preston in their final match and beat our team score in our final match by 90 points. This seems very unlikely given the strength of these two teams. More so since Leeds and Preston will field as strong a team as possible as they battle it out for 4th place in the division and a place in the auxilliary final. Wigan have also only once in four matches beaten our team score and then only by 6 points. However, if we finish in 3rd place in our last match then it will guarantee that we stay up.
