We are proud to be one of the North of England's premier clubs, with a vibrant mix of athletes - from 8 year olds to Seniors. At City of Sheffield we care about our athletes, whatever their standard, and this is reflected in our being awarded Clubmark by England Athletics. The club caters for athletes of all ages, ethnicity, development, and abilities to enhance their potential in the variety of disciplines which the sport offers.

By providing free coaching from qualified coaches with support for all, whether track & field, road, cross country or race walking, we nurture and develop the individual's abilities in a fun and friendly atmosphere to enable them to succeed to the best of their potential.

The club trains in state of the art facilities at Sheffield's Don Valley Stadium and the English Institute of Sport.  If you are interested in athletics, whatever your level of ability, then you are invited to come along and join us.

County Championships Print E-mail
Tuesday, 13 May 2008

Club athletes excelled themselves at the Yorkshire, Derbyshire and Nottinghamshire county championships last weekend. Across all of the age groups our athletes won 33 gold, 14 silver and 11 bronze medals, setting new championship best performances in the process.

Yorkshire AA Championships
It was a bumper weekend in terms of the club's medal haul (20 gold, 12 silver and 9 bronze), and in the glorious weather for the event. There were a number of PBs set and club records broken and the total number of medals won was 5 more than club athletes won at last year's championships.
Jessica Ennis set a new outdoor PB for the shot putt, and this coupled with the javelin PB that she set at last weeks Northen League, is encouraging for Beijing.
Below are details of our gold medal winners. Apologies, I haven't the time to list all medal winners.
