An entirely new event to the running calender taking place on Sunday 18th May 2008 at Chatsworth Park in Derbyshire.
The event is sponsored by Helen's Trust and Derbyshire Police Sports Club. The event will be run under UKA rules and a permit has been applied for. This is a fantastic traffic free venue. Starting near the Golden Gates runners will wind their way up to Dobbs Edge into splendid woodland with two impressive lakes. They will then head toward the Hunting Tower before passing first the Emperor and then the Swiss Lake. Heading toward Park Farm they will follow the trail before taking the track back to the Hunting Tower. In contraflow they will then descend back to the deer park and head toward Chatsworth House. Just before Chatsworth House runners will descend to the road taking them back to the Golden Gates and finish. They are using Champion Chip Timing for the 10k which should attract up to 1000 runners of all abilities. There are cash prizes for individual and team male and female winners plus individual veterans categories. In addition there will be spot and fund-raising prizes. Free on site car parking near to the start enabling entrants to safely leave clothing etc in their own cars. On site toilets. Included in the entry fee is all admin costs, a contribution to Helen's Trust, a £3 food voucher that can be used in Chatsworth House food outlets and tee shirt. Non running friends and family members can participate in the fun run. All entrants, 10k and Fun Run will be entitled to a 25% discount off entry into Chatsworth House. We will have extensive marshaling provided by Rotary International with first aid provided by St Johns Ambulance Of particular relevance to those clubs from Sheffield, The High Peak and the Derbyshire Dales is a the opportunity to support a local charity, Helen's Trust.
