At the Norwich Union International in Glasgow on Saturday, Jessica Ennis equalled her personal best of 8.18 seconds in the 60m hurdles in a race won by Sweden’s European champion Sussana Kallur. Jessica completed her day’s work by coming second in the long jump, competing as a guest, with an indoor PB of 6.33m.

In the Northern Cross Country Championships at Roundhay Park, Leeds on Saturday, James Gray was our best placed athlete finishing the U15 boys race in 4th place in 12.28 minutes, just 10 seconds behind the winner. Daniel Jepson was 32nd.
Alex Walker was 34th in the U17 mens 6k race in 21.40, Beth Ansell was 48th in the U13 girls race and Adam Khan was 119th in the U13 boys race.

There was a good number of our young athletes in action in the North of England U15/U17 Indoor Championships at EIS this weekend.
The best result was a first place for Chris Grayson in the U15 boys 800m in a time of 2:07:85.
In the U17 womens 60 metres Carys Hall set a new club record with a time of 8.00 seconds to finish 3rd. She also finished 3rd in the 200m in 25.44 seconds, also a club record.
In the U15 boys high jump Adam Khan was second placed with 1.45m and followed this with a 6th place in the long jump.
Abigail Bishell was 2nd in the U15 girls 60 metres in 8.09 seconds and was also 3rd in the 200m in 26.59.
In the U17 womens triple jump Hannah Brightmore finished in 4th place with 10.77m, bettering her own club record by 1cm. Another club record broken was the U17 mens indoor 400 meters record which Luke South bettered in 53.30 seconds.
Also competing were Lucy Hodgson who was 3rd in the U15G high jump, Emily Cox was 7th in the U15G 60m hurdles and Cameron Burrows was 8th in the U15B 60 metres.
