South Yorkshire Cross Country League

It was the first race of the South Yorkshire County AA cross country league at Norfolk Park, Sheffield on Sunday 21 October.. Our best placed athletes were Alex Walker who won the U17M race in a time of 19.40 minutes, and James Gray finished first in the U15B race in 12.29, almost a full minute ahead of the second placed athlete. In the Senior men's race Martin Reid finished 10th in 28.26 minutes and Steve Evison finished 15 seconds behind in 12th place.Dennis O'Gorman was placed 4th in the V50M race with a time of 31.44 minutes. In the U13B race Reece White was 5th in 13.40 with Adam Khan in 7th and Oliver Byne in 9th. Beth Ansell was 6th in the U13G race in 13.21 with Alison Stoney in 18th and Hayley Simpson in 21st place. Joe Hobson was our only athlete in the U11B race and he finished 13th in 6.58. In the U11G race Lauren Ansell was 9th in 7.01 with Sarah Simpson in 20th and Niamh Hardy in 29th out of 45 runners. Well done to all, especially those competing in this event for the first time, the hill in Norfolk Park is quite challenging!
