Welcome to the City of Sheffield Athletic Club

We are proud to be one of the North of England's premier clubs, with a vibrant mix of athletes - from 8 year olds to Seniors. At City of Sheffield we care about our athletes, whatever their standard, and this is reflected in our being awarded Clubmark by England Athletics. The club caters for athletes of all ages, ethnicity, development, and abilities to enhance their potential in the variety of disciplines which the sport offers.

By providing free coaching from qualified coaches with support for all, whether track & field, road, cross country or race walking, we nurture and develop the individual's abilities in a fun and friendly atmosphere to enable them to succeed to the best of their potential.

The club trains in state of the art facilities at Sheffield's Don Valley Stadium and the English Institute of Sport.  If you are interested in athletics, whatever your level of ability, then you are invited to come along and join us.

South Yorkshire Cross Country League Print E-mail

It was the first race of the South Yorkshire County AA cross country league at Norfolk Park, Sheffield on Sunday 21 October.. Our best placed athletes were Alex Walker who won the U17M race in a time of 19.40 minutes, and James Gray finished first in the U15B race in 12.29, almost a full minute ahead of the second placed athlete.

In the Senior men's race Martin Reid finished 10th in 28.26 minutes and Steve Evison finished 15 seconds behind in 12th place.Dennis O'Gorman was placed 4th in the V50M race with a time of 31.44 minutes.

In the U13B race Reece White was 5th in 13.40 with Adam Khan in 7th and Oliver Byne in 9th. Beth Ansell was 6th in the U13G race in 13.21 with Alison Stoney in 18th and Hayley Simpson in 21st place.

Joe Hobson was our only athlete in the U11B race and he finished 13th in 6.58.
In the U11G race Lauren Ansell was 9th in 7.01 with Sarah Simpson in 20th and Niamh Hardy in 29th out of 45 runners. Well done to all, especially those competing in this event for the first time, the hill in Norfolk Park is quite challenging!
