Welcome to the City of Sheffield Athletic Club

We are proud to be one of the North of England's premier clubs, with a vibrant mix of athletes - from 8 year olds to Seniors. At City of Sheffield we care about our athletes, whatever their standard, and this is reflected in our being awarded Clubmark by England Athletics. The club caters for athletes of all ages, ethnicity, development, and abilities to enhance their potential in the variety of disciplines which the sport offers.

By providing free coaching from qualified coaches with support for all, whether track & field, road, cross country or race walking, we nurture and develop the individual's abilities in a fun and friendly atmosphere to enable them to succeed to the best of their potential.

The club trains in state of the art facilities at Sheffield's Don Valley Stadium and the English Institute of Sport.  If you are interested in athletics, whatever your level of ability, then you are invited to come along and join us.

If you are aged 8 to 16 years and are interested in joining us then visit our Young Athletes pages.

Yorkshire County Road Races and Relays Print E-mail
Tuesday, 18 September 2007
It was mixed fortunes for our athletes at Don Vally Stadium on Saturday 15 September. The highlight being the success of the U15 boys.

James Gray won the U15B race in a time of 10:25 with Chris Grayson not far behind in 3rd place, Daniel Jepson in 4th place and John Rwatomach in 13th in his first race. With the first 3 places counting toward the team score the lads won the team race.

In the U13G race, Beth Ansell was 11th, Abbey Stanley 32nd was and Matilda Moulam 34th, with the team being placed 6th in their first ever road race.

The U13B team where only just better placed in 5th in their race with Reece White 12th, Oliver Byne 15th and Scott Smith 23rd.

In the senior ladies race the team of N Butler, S Brown, S Philips and S Bond finished in 15th place. There were only 2 enties from our club in the men's race with M Reid finishing with a time of 20:57 and M Plint in 25:06.

Below are the U15 boys team with their coach Mick Thompson who deserves a lot of credit for the hard work that he puts into training the lads. Well done!
