Welcome to the City of Sheffield Athletic Club

We are proud to be one of the North of England's premier clubs, with a vibrant mix of athletes - from 8 year olds to Seniors. At City of Sheffield we care about our athletes, whatever their standard, and this is reflected in our being awarded Clubmark by England Athletics. The club caters for athletes of all ages, ethnicity, development, and abilities to enhance their potential in the variety of disciplines which the sport offers.

By providing free coaching from qualified coaches with support for all, whether track & field, road, cross country or race walking, we nurture and develop the individual's abilities in a fun and friendly atmosphere to enable them to succeed to the best of their potential.

The club trains in state of the art facilities at Sheffield's Don Valley Stadium and the English Institute of Sport.  If you are interested in athletics, whatever your level of ability, then you are invited to come along and join us.

If you are aged 8 to 16 years and are interested in joining us then visit our Young Athletes pages.

2nd For Girls in Tom Pink Relays Print E-mail
Monday, 20 August 2007
tompinkgirls07.jpg A team of U13 girls took second place in the Tom Pink Relays competition in Derby on 19 August.

The AAAs have been left a substantial bequest by an elderly lady, Mrs Louise Pink, for a children’s programme in memory of her son Tom who was tragically killed in an accident in the early 1950’s. They decided to use this generous gift to fund a series of children’s relays in support of and leading up to the 2012 games in London.

A team of Olivia Noteman, Matilda Moulam, Abbey Stanley, Grace Dennis and Victoria Stasi took part in the Chasing Kelly relay at the Moorways Stadium, Derby on Sunday. This is a 1500 metre continuous relay for teams 5 in the under 13 girls age group. This is a challenge for the girls to beat Kelly Holmes 800 metre and 1500 metre record. Each team member ran 3 times over 100 metres to complete the distance.

The girls did extremely well in coming home in second place having lead the relay until the final 100m when they were pipped by Derby AC.
