A somewhat depleted team showed their usual fight and team spirit to win the match and secure the championship and promotion to the Northern Premier League. At one point the team were in second place behind home team Boston but fantastic support from both athletes and parents lifted the team performances. Notably Joseph Baugh in the U17 men's high jump who, in response to clapping and cheering from the stands, won with a hight of 1.9 metres and also won the boys field Athlete of the Match Award.

The croud however left best until last for the relays where the cheering and encouragement was almost deafening and visibly lifted the relay teams.

All their efforts helped the team clock up a total of 399 points, 46 ahead of Boston with Blaydon and Scarborough in third and fourth.

This completes an unbeaten 5 match clean sweep for the team.

Well done to all the athletes who have worked very hard and helped contribute to such a successful season. Thanks also to the team managers, officails and parents.
