On a fine day for athletics at Woodburn Road on Sunday the Young Athletes League team extended their winning run to three games.
In their toughest match yet the team won with 376 points, edging Wakefield into second place by 30 points with Middlesborough in third place and Hallamshire Harriers fourth. The win places them at the top of Northern Division 1E with two matches remaining Once again it was a great team performance with many athletes beating their PBs and a great deal of credit must go to those athletes who threw, hurdled, middle distanced and steeplechased for the very first time. Carys Hall was awarded the Ladies Track Athlete of the Match for her performance in the 200m. Many thanks to all those who helped out on the day with officiating and organising the team. With the team's opponents in their final two matches having all been beaten by Wakefield or Middlesborough this season there is a real prospect of a clean sweep, the championship and promotion to the Premier Division. Result City of Sheffield 376 Wakefield 346 Middlesborough 298 Hallamshire Harriers 223
