Welcome to the City of Sheffield Athletic Club

We are proud to be one of the North of England's premier clubs, with a vibrant mix of athletes - from 8 year olds to Seniors. At City of Sheffield we care about our athletes, whatever their standard, and this is reflected in our being awarded Clubmark by England Athletics. The club caters for athletes of all ages, ethnicity, development, and abilities to enhance their potential in the variety of disciplines which the sport offers.

By providing free coaching from qualified coaches with support for all, whether track & field, road, cross country or race walking, we nurture and develop the individual's abilities in a fun and friendly atmosphere to enable them to succeed to the best of their potential.

The club trains in state of the art facilities at Sheffield's Don Valley Stadium and the English Institute of Sport.  If you are interested in athletics, whatever your level of ability, then you are invited to come along and join us.

If you are aged 8 to 16 years and are interested in joining us then visit our Young Athletes pages.

Jessica's Tremendous Treble Print E-mail
Tuesday, 05 June 2007
In the UK Women’s League Division 1 match at Manchester on Saturday Jessica Ennis completed an amazing treble.

She ran the fastest ever 100m hurdles in the history of the competition, 12.97 seconds, beating the record that had stood to Sally Gunnell since 1988 and setting a new personal best.
She then beat her long jump personal best twice to clinch victory with 6.54m jump.
And to round it all off she recorded the fastest 200m by a UK sprinter so far this year, 23.29 seconds, and yet another personal best.
The match was part of the UK Challenge, created by UK Athletics in 2005 to help more top-class club athletes improve towards international standards.
