Jessica Breaks British U23 Heptathlon Record and Equals UK High Jump Record

Jessica Ennis broke Denise Lewis's British U23 heptathlon record in Italy on 6 May and in doing so set four personal bests and equalled the UK Women's high jump record. At the IAAF 20th Multistars heptathlon event in Desenzano del Garda, Italy, Jessica broke the British U23 heptathlon record which had stood since 1994. Her total of 6388 points, a personal best, bettered the previous record by 63 points and ensured that she took gold. In breaking the record Jessica set personal bests in the 100m hurdles, high jump and long jump. Her high jump of 1.95m also equals the UK Women's record.
