Yorkshire County Cross Country Championships

The Yorkshire County Cross Country Championships took place at Skipton on Saturday 6 January. Our boys did particularly well.

In the U17 boys race, Abdi Rsak Ahmed gained a hard fought second place finishing just 2 seconds ahead of the third placed runner, and 15 seconds behind first place, with a time of 21.38.

Yasin Mohamed won the U15 boys race in a time of 16.59, 1 second ahead of the second placed athlete.
James Gray finished in 9th place with a time of 18.04, and Daniel Jepson finished in 20th place in 19.09.

Our club has joined with Theo's Sheffield Childrens Hospital Charity to form the Theo's Rother Valley 10K race on 5th April 2009. It is great to be able to bring charity fund raising to our annual 10k race. The race will feature 'chip' timing and a licence for the event has been applied for. Details can be found at www.theos10k.com.wwe.theos10k.com

The aim is to provide competition, during the winter period, to encourage new athletes – and existing club athletes - to use the excellent facilities available at EIS and to experience indoor athletics. The competition is open to U11s, U13s and U15s.
