The NoEAA lifted the trophy at the annual Midland v South v North Inter-Area Race Walking Match for only the second time in its fourteen year history.Nine of the 16 strong team came from the City of Sheffield squad.

The U20 women saw a victory by Rebecca Mersh (26.30.2). In the U17 5,000m Kathryn Granger eased away from Junior International Chelsea O’Rawe of the South to beat her for the first time since April recording a PB of 26.55.1. Her Sheffield team mate Danya Sarayreh (U15) walking up an age group to fill a gap made her debut over 5,000m recording a solid 30.08.6 to take third place.

In the U15 Girl’s 3,000m Natalie Myers and her close Midland rival and English Schools champion Vicky Morgan set a furious pace where for the first two laps they walked at close to 14 min pace, two minutes inside their PB’s. This led to the Wolverhampton athlete dramatically stepping off the track and dropping to the ground exhausted after three laps. Walking the rest of the race on her own, Natalie’s pace inevitably dropped but she still managed a track PB dipping under 16 min for the first time (15.58.2).

These performances were backed up by third places for Mark Pratt walking as an U20 in 29.50.6 and Eddie Brebner in the U13 2,000m in 12.02.0 and fourth places for Tyler Bower walking up an age group as an U15 (18.50.2 for 3,000m and Shaun Cohen 13.09.8 in the U13 2,000m. Caitlyn Akers was 6th in the U13 2,000m in 13.07.6
