Welcome to the Young Athletes section of the club. We cater for athletes between the ages of 8 and 16 years and of any ethnicity, development, and abilities to enhance their potential in the variety of disciplines, which the sport offers.
We provide free coaching from UK Athletics qualified coaches and ex olympic athletes with support for all, whether track & field, road, cross country or race walking, we nurture and develop the individual's abilities in a fun and friendly atmosphere to enable them to succeed to the best of their potential. Why not join us in state of the art facilities at Sheffield's English Institute of Sport and Don Valley stadium.
If you are interested in athletics, whatever your level of ability, then you are invited to come along and join us.
What can I do?
We have a number of coaches who can provide tuition in a range of events. This and links with coaches outside the club enable us to offer coaching in:

When can I train?
Due to the large number of children attending the Wednesday evening sessions we are now at the limit that we can accommodate. If you would like your child to attend these sessions then send your details to the email address below and we will add your child to our waiting list.
The club has it's Young Athletes training evening every Wednesday from 6pm to 7.30pm in world class facilities at the English Institute of Sport, Coleridge Road, Sheffield. The cost per session is £2.70, ask at the main desk for the City of Sheffield Athletic Club. We meet at the indoor track.
We also provide coaching for older and advanced athletes at the English Institute of Sport on Tuesday and Thursday evenings at 6.30pm.
There is also event specific coaching available on a variety of evenings at Don Valley Stadium and Woodburn Road.
