Officials Needed for the Young Athletes League |

As Rob Andrew said on the Forum we get additional team points for providing officials at Young Athletes League matches. We had insufficient officials at Wavertree and lost 11 points as a result. Had we had an additional 3 officials we would have finished in 2nd place rather than in 3rd place in the match. At each match we need to provide:
2 Track Judges
2 Timekeepers
6 Field Judges (2 graded minimum)
Clubs are awarded 2 points per official (10 points max) plus an additional 5 points for full team of officials. Making a maximum 25 points that the officials can gain for the team. All three of our opponents at Wavertree got the maximum 25 points.
Andrea and Rob are the two graded Field Judges that we need. However, where we do need officials is as Timekeepers and Track Judges.
Can you please let Rob or Andrea know if you could help out by being an official at matches and I'm sure that we can organise someone to show you what to do at the next Young Athletes match on 18 May in Sheffield.

Wednesday Evening Young Athletes Training Sessions |

Due to the large number of children currently attending the Wednesday evening sessions we are now at the limit that we can safely accommodate. We will therefore not be accepting any new children to the sessions at present. If you would like your child to attend these sessions then send your details to the

If your child currently attends the Wednesday evening sessions please note that we will be restructuring the format of the sessions in the very near future. The changes will improve the coaching provided and improve upon the safety of the training environment.

Road & Cross Country Committee Representative Needed |

Funding for U23s |

The AAAs of England Charity Athletics for the Young is seeking applications from Athletes who are under 23 for funding of their athletics. To qualify for funding you should be English, in full time education or equivalent, not receiving other funding. Details can be found at http://www.noeaa-athletics.org.uk/.

MEMBERSHIP FEE RENEWAL |

It is now time for all members to renew their annual membership fees. It is essential that these fees are paid as the club must pay a registration fee to athletic governing bodies and organisations so that our athletes can compete in individual and team competitions and championships, as well as paying for transport to matches.
Please renew your fees promptly.
A portion of your fees covers the cost of registering you with UK Athletics. This registration provides you with insurance against injury while competing or training. If you don't pay your fees you won't be registered and you won't be insured.
The club's Chairman has proposed and agreed that any athlete, senior or junior, who has not paid their membership fees will not be permitted to compete for the club in any competition.

If anyone is interested we will set up some email distribution lists to send details and entry forms for Track & Field, Cross Country and Road Racing fixtures and events to athletes/coaches/parents. Things such as National, Regional and Local championships, Senior & Young Athlete fixtures, Open competitions etc.
